Porsche 911 Carrera (2016) – the one and only

Porsche Carrera 2016

The legendary Porsche 911 Carrera has gone under the knife again, but the changes have to be looked for almost in broad daylight to discover them. Well, all of you who follow the 911 Carrera in a little more detail will still quickly notice the details that indicate that in front of you is the 2016 Porsche Carrera 911. Under the hood, on the other hand, the Carrera has not only undergone cosmetic revisions, but tectonic shifts took place there, at least as far as engines are concerned. Also, this super sports car is no longer a "paraplegic", as it will now be able to steer with all four wheels.

Porsche 911 Carrera (2016), despite its timelessness, keeps it fresh by undergoing a renewal every now and then. The latest version is coming to the Slovenian market in early 2016, and the price remains unknown. As a guide, let's take the German one, which is a bit more than the basic version 96 thousand euros. The German manufacturer of sports cars, this time too, somehow he didn't trade a winning horse, because the new Carrera has retained the characteristic bodywork, but it is still somewhat different stylishly transformed the headlights with four-point LED daytime running lights, put new glass on the rear lights (glasses with an accented edge are characteristic of the four-piece brake lights), it is also new bonnet, which is slightly more pronounced, however air slots, and door handles also went under the knife.

If, in spite of the above, there were no visible movements outside, it shook all the more inside. Let's start in the cockpit - where there was also no revolution - with the infotainment system. This one has new PCM interface and 7-inch touch screen, which supports Wi-Fi technology, but also has an updated navigation system that relies on Google Maps and Street View and is compatible with the system Apple CarPlay. If you will spice up the new Carrera with a package "sport chrono" a rotary switch is waiting for you on the steering wheel to play with with chassis, steering and engine responsiveness, with which the new supercar is inspired by the hybrid supercar 918. Porsche will offer four well-established programs, namely normal, sport, sport plus and individual. If the Carrera will be equipped with PDK gearbox, there is another button on the steering wheel "sport response". When pressed, the car will fall into 20-second trance (read maximum use of its capabilities) and adjusted both the operation of the engine and the gearbox.

Among the innovations we can also count cruise control, and optionally there is also a utility for lane keeping. Now to the beast that will growl under the hood. It is a new generation of turbo engines, where the 3.6- or The 3.8-liter naturally aspirated engine retires 3.0-liter bi-turbo V6 engine, which is the first really radical change after the launch water cooling even in the previous millennium. Despite the "economy measures", the Carrera is more powerful than its predecessor. In fact, instead of 350, she entered nothing into her account 370 horses (272 kW), and the S version added 20 new horses to the now 400-strong cavalry (308 kW). In new meters, this means 450 or 500 new meters between 1700 (advantage of the "turbine") and 5000 revolutions.

This can also be seen on the acceleration. So it shoots from 0 to 100 km/h in no time 4.2 seconds, and the S needs even less for this due to the completely different exhaust system and forced charging. 3.9 seconds. We owe you the ultimate speed. This amounts to 295 and 308 km/h, respectively. The Carrera will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and it will be on the market from December 12, 2015 further, but you will have to prepare the minimum for it 96,605 euros.
