Porsche 911 GT3 with Manthey package: a racing machine that has still tightened its laces

New aerodynamic kit for GT3 increases downforce and reduces Nürburgring lap times

When Porsche says they're "improving" something, we know it's a millimeter-precise obsession. The 911 GT3 is already a road car with a track license, but in collaboration with racing guru Manthey - majority owned by Porsche itself - they've taken this brutal adult toy to a new level. Without adding a single horsepower. Magic? No. Engineering.

The facelifted Porsche 911 GT3 of the 992.2 generation now offers the Manthey package option * Porsche 911 GT3 with Manthey, which includes – let’s be honest – pretty cool carbon wheels with aerodynamic discs. These create the visual effect of an asymmetrical design, although underneath are classic forged wheels. The new 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels reduce weight by 6 kilograms. Yes, in the Porsche world, every gram counts. Literally.

For those who want to stick their GT3 even more to the tarmac (and maybe scare a few pigeons along the way), there are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R semi-racing tires. You also get braided steel brakes and a four-way adjustable suspension that you can adjust by hand – without tools. Because why carry tools when you’re carrying a Porsche?

More wings than Air Force One – Porsche 911 GT3 by Manthey

The GT3 with the Manthey package also gets a redesigned, massive rear spoiler with an additional Gurney lip, enlarged side panels and an enlarged rear diffuser. Aerodynamics? Like a jet. And as if that weren't enough, they've also taken the underside of the car - the part most people never see - and turned it into an active aerodynamic surface. The new aerodynamic elements under the car measure a whopping 1.5 meters in length.

Up front, there's an even more aggressive spoiler, additional diffuser slats, and classic racing canards. The result? In road-going configuration, the GT3 generates 782 pounds (about 355 kg) of downforce. In full racing configuration, it generates 1,190 pounds (about 540 kg). That's more than the weight of an average grand piano. No wonder it sticks to the road like a tax on profits—it's not going anywhere.

Nürburgring: Settling accounts

All these extras aren't just for showing off at the local gas station. Porsche sent the GT3 with the Manthey kit to the green hell of the Nürburgring, where it was piloted by current DTM champion Ayhancan Güven. The result? Stunning 6 minutes and 52.9 seconds, which is 2.76 seconds faster than the previous version. In the world of sports cars, that's almost the whole world.

And how much will that cost you?

The Manthey kit will be available in the US in spring 2026. Price? It hasn't been officially revealed yet, but considering the previous version (for the 992.1 model) cost $57,300, not including the $15,500 worth of wheels, then... well, if you have to ask, you're probably not the target audience.

For reference: Manthey package for Porsche GT3 RS costs $116,160, while the older GT2 RS costs $113,140 – excluding taxes, excluding assembly and, of course, excluding the car. The car is of course your problem.

Porsche + Manthey = perfect marriage… without a contract

Best of all, installing the Manthey package doesn't void your factory warranty, and more than 40 authorized Manthey-Porsche repairers in the U.S. can perform the conversion. Europeans—we're still waiting for pricing for our end of the world, but if you know Porsche, this won't exactly be the "deal of the week."

Would you like to further sharpen your GT3?

Porsche and Manthey prove once again that the line between road and track is becoming increasingly blurred. And although the GT3 is fundamentally a racing experience for everyday use, it is  Porsche 911 GT3 with Manthey a complete car that basically screams: "Who needs a GT3 RS when I have one?" Manthey"?"
