An ad for a used Porsche Carrera 996 Safari has become a 'viral' internet star. The San Fernando Valley seller is asking $45,000 for it, but that's certainly not the first thing you'd notice in the ad.
They are currently used Porsches more popular than ever and so their prices don't drop much either. In some cases, these even rise or remain at more or less the same level. The mode and form of personal transport are definitely changing. Mainly through the use of autonomous vehicles, the system car sharing and Uber. Among all these technology-subordinated cars are unique specimens still wanted. And for Porsche 911 Safarand that is somehow not true, as it is not classified as one of the more desirable Porsches.
Maybe the shape of the headlights bothers us, maybe the year of manufacture or we have some other reason. Porsche 911s with model designation 996 they have gained absolutely nothing in value over time. But here it appears bright spot in the form of a green Porsche 996 Safari. Rebuilt engine, lifted suspension, mud and snow tires, powder coated rims, roof rack, ax and shovel mounting points, fog lights, mud splash guard and reworked exhaust system are the things that make this Safari completely unique. And the interior? When was the last time you saw upholstery from tartan and that in yellow color combination?
The redesigned and cosmetically quite different Porsche 996 Safari certainly caught the attention of many. It is a unique car, which will already be because of its Internet minutes of fame easily found a new owner. If time has not been kind to us in the value of the car, there are ways to sell it for good money after all. We only need the good an idea and a little luck.
