Porsche has decided that the next generation of the Porsche Macan will be fully electric. This will be the brand's first electric compact SUV, and it is expected to hit the roads at the beginning of the coming decade. Electric cars are a fact, they are coming in ever-increasing numbers and represent our future.
Offer Porsche's of electric cars will become a reality towards the end of this year, when the first Porsche Taycans will hit the road. A slightly larger Porsche will follow soon after Taycan Cross Turismo, which will be followed by the best-selling of all Porsches, Porsche Macan. They are based on the same platform that they also share with the Audi brand, and will be the heart of the system 800-volt battery technology. Porsche announced that they will be until the year 2022 invested more than 6 billion euros into electric mobility, by year 2025 but you could already 50% of new Porsches mistletoe electric drive. Of course, this does not mean that they will neglect the field of internal combustion engines.
Porsche's biggest competition will be Tesla. Tesla currently has a larger SUV available, the Tesla Model X. It can travel about the same distance on a single charge, around 500 kilometers, as can be transported by the Porsche Taycan. The Macan is smaller than the Tesla X, and more precise data on battery capacity is not yet known. We can conclude that the numbers will be the same as for the Taycan model. Porsche has already started renovating and investing in the factory Leipzig, where they will produce electric Porsches of the future.
