For those who have been eagerly awaiting the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, the moment has finally arrived. The luxury sports car company has just revealed its latest offering: a unique tribute to the legendary track-focused version from the 1970s based on the 2023 911 GT3 RS. The GT3 RS is already a real beast of a car, boasting 525 horsepower, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 296 km/h (184 mph). But this special tribute package to the history of the thing takes things to the next level.
A package Porsche 911 GT3 RS Tribute to Carrera RS is a stunning work of art, boasting numerous tweaks, both inside and out, that pay homage to the original RS-spec model from 1973. Starting with a special white key, the car has a host of features Exclusive Manufaktur in Python Green color, the same shade that graced the original RS 2.7. These include magnesium wheels, mirror caps, GT3 RS graphics on the doors, a model-exclusive rear bumper graphic and a special RS logo with an American flag on the fender, which is also decorated with PORSCHE lettering on the underside. The Tribute also includes RS valve stem covers, keycaps and a custom panel frame, all in Python Green.
Inside the cabin, the car is equally breathtaking. Center console with embossed leather RS logo, illuminated door sills with custom inlays that say »Tribute To Carrera RS' and sports seats made of carbon with special headrests with a logo Weissach RS they provide an incredible driving experience. Python Green accent stitching throughout the cabin adds to the car's unique and elegant appearance. Carbon fiber stabilizers, tie rods and shear plates, all made from a lightweight weave, add to the car's performance.
Each unit has a special brand watch Porsche Design and a set of model cars in scale 1:43, one a 1973 Carrera RS and the other a GT3 RS tribute replica. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS Tribute to Carrera RS Package made its first public appearance in the US at Sebring International Raceway during the 12 Hours of Sebring. Customers can expect deliveries to begin within a few weeks.
