On Friday, November 17, 2017, the drama of the Slovenian National Theater Maribor will premiere Yasmine Reza's comedy God of Massacre, directed by Ajda Valcl, on the Small Stage. Starring Ana Urbanc, Vladimir Vlaškalić, Ksenija Mišič and Kristijan Ostanek.
Two teenagers got into a fight in the school yard and one of them lost a tooth. A case of an unfortunate incident in the usual Pobalin behavior? Or for a case of dangerous adolescent aggression that should be severely sanctioned? It seems that in the orderly environment of the urban middle class, to which the protagonists of the play by the contemporary French comedy writer Yasmine Reza belong, it is possible to achieve sober deal, who will appease hostilities and heal wounds (even with the appropriate payment of a new tooth), and provide phantoms educational lesson. It is for this purpose that the parents of the two children meet. All four are sufficiently mature and cultured, relatively well situated and safe. Of course, each of them has their weak points and their understanding of things is completely opposite in places... When dispute mechanism once it starts, they can't stop it.
Yasmina Reza (1959) is probably the most famous playwright of our time. In 1994, she became famous with a comedy ART, which she received the three most prestigious awards of the theater world: the French Molière Award, the British Olivier Award and, for the first time, for a non-English work, the American Tony Award. She followed suit hit series (Three versions of life, One Spanish piece, Bella Figura...), among which he particularly stands out God of Massacre (Le Dieu de carnage, 2007), which conquered stages all over the world, and was also filmed after movie Carnage (2011) directed by and starring Robert Polanski Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz, John C. Reilly and Jodie Foster.
