Range Rover has shown a special example of the Discovery SUV called Project Hero in Geneva. The rescue vehicle is equipped with a landing pad for a drone that can land on the vehicle even while the vehicle is moving. The drone is a scout and provides assistance in rescuing the missing.
Project Hero is a unique version of the model Land Rover Discovery intended rescue in natural or mountain disasters. For this purpose, it is equipped with a take-off and landing system drone, which is used in searching for the missing and soundings.
The drone can land autonomously, viz on the movable roof, while driving. The vehicle, built for the Austrian Red Cross, is also equipped with a special communication system, with which Land Rover wants to come to the aid of organizations that help rescue missing people in accidents. Land Rover stocks its vehicles Red Cross ever since in 1954. It has Project Hero behind the back seats retractable platform with additional rescue equipment and anchorages.

Land Rover Discovery Project Hero is based on the model Discovery 3.0 V6 Turbo Diesel. The drone weighs 5.5 kilograms and can fly at a speed of up to 54 km/h. It lasts on a charge 20 minutes, and its range is one kilometer.
