Do you have a pile of clothes at home that are in good condition, but you don't wear them anymore (or you never did - ah, girls and our hasty purchases...)? The Tekstilnica project allows you to exchange clothes every last Wednesday of the month, which will allow you to get rid of old pieces and bring home something new or at least something more vintage.
Anyone who has ever been abroad can tell you that there are incomparably more common second-hand clothing stores and vintage stores than in Slovenia. 2nd hand shops and clothes that are not directly fresh from a "normal" store (although we also find the freshness of the smell of Chinese factories rather questionable...) still have a kind of negative connotation for us.
Textile Project with its activities, it therefore breaks down these taboos, as it regularly organizes clothing collection campaigns and various exchanges, the purpose of which is to make the public aware of the importance separate collection of textile waste, to open within the framework of social entrepreneurship new, green jobs for hard-to-employ groups of people (mainly women over 50) and establish an efficient system collection and processing of used clothes.

Everything is very simple. If your clothes are still fashionable or wearable, you can exchange every last Wednesday afternoon at the Walfodra school in Ljubljana. But if you think that they are no longer "for nowhere" and would otherwise be thrown in the trash, bring these clothes to collection campaign or you can throw them in the Tekstilnica container. From them, employees from socially less employable groups then make new products: new clothes, unique fashion accessories, handbags or products for the home, cloths for industry and the like. You can buy all original products in their online store.
To exchange at the Walfdor School in Ljubljana you can every last Wednesday of the month (it's already the first September 24th) between 5 and 7 p.m. we bring up to 10 clean and well-preserved items of clothing, footwear or home textiles. We pay a modest entrance fee (3 euros) at the reception desk, and we hand in our clothes and get points for them. Then, during the exchange, you can choose clothes worth these points.
But if you just want to empty your closet, you can do it already on September 15 at the collection campaign in Savské naselje in Ljubljana, on September 22 at the collection campaign in Fužine, on October 13 and 27 in Grosuplje and on October 20 in Brezovica near Ljubljana. All items of clothing and footwear can also be sent to Tekstilnica containers, which are located throughout Slovenia and whose locations you can find here.
