PRESENTATION OF THE VENUS PROJECT IN SLOVENIA

Jacques Fresco and Roxanne Meadows will visit 20 countries as part of their world tour, including Slovenia. On June 5, 2010, they will present the "futuristic" project Venus in Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana.

Jacques Fresco and Roxanne Meadows present the Venus Project on a world tour. After visiting Colombia, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and India, they will stop in Slovenia. In a three-hour lecture, they will present concrete solutions to the problems of today's society, which represents the basic idea of the Venus project. The purpose of the world tour is to support the project and to preserve and continue the work of the Venus Research Center in Florida.

In the city of Venus, Florida, after which the project is also named, Jacques Fresco and Roxanne Meadows are creating the city or residences of the future in their research center on an area of 9 hectares. The Venus project is based on existing knowledge and technology. The vision of the Venus project encompasses much more than just architectural and technological elements. Author Jacques Fresco sees his cities as a tool for spreading humanist values. According to him, the environment shapes our values. And what does he say will guide people in the future? A world without war, without hatred, without prejudice and without want. This is also the main thrust of the Venus project.

Project Venus is a global vision of the future and represents a new direction for humanity. It involves a comprehensive transformation of society and culture into a system in which people, technology and nature will be able to coexist in a sustainable dynamic balance. The basic premise of the project is a resource-based economy. In Fresco's vision, the world's resources are common property, meaning that all goods and services are available to all residents.

According to the author, Jacques Frescoof today it's "bad science" that causes you problems. Instead of personal gain and enrichment of individuals, science and technology should be used for the betterment of humanity. With the intelligent and humane application of science and technology, every individual could enjoy a high standard of living with all the goods that a successful civilization can obtain.

Society Spirit of the times

The host and organizer of the lecture is the Spirit of the Times Society, an association for sustainable development, which is part of the global movement "The Zeitgeist movement". The purpose of the association is to actively spread solutions on the topic of sustainable development of human society.
