Recipe: baked gnocchi with mozzarella and spinach

Baked gnocchi with mozzarella and spinach will satisfy the palates of even picky eaters. Fragrant and simple spinach and tomato sauce with the addition of honey and mozzarella gives this dish a fantastic taste. Use herbs for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, peeled and crushed
  • 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 700 g of pureed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 80 g of young spinach
  • salt and pepper
  • 800 g of fresh gnocchi
  • 300 g of mozzarella
  • 25 g of fresh basil
  • freshly grated parmesan for serving (optional)

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan (use an oven pan). Add the garlic and onion and fry for 5 minutes until everything softens.
  2. Add tomatoes, honey, spinach, salt, pepper and gnocchi that you have previously cooked and, if desired, fresh basil.
  3. Sauté for about 5 minutes to combine and wilt the spinach.
  4. Then add the mozzarella cut into pieces.
  5. Put the prepared dish in the oven for about 15 minutes so that the mozzarella turns golden brown.
