Recipe: Baked potatoes with a soft core and a crispy crust

One of the summer specialties is baked potatoes with a fluffy center and a crispy crust that just melts in your mouth. Those who have already tried to bake such potatoes know that this is not the easiest task...

But be careful, we searched the web and found a recipe that will make everything much easier. On to the Food Wishes YouTube channel Chef John shows you step by step how to achieve a perfectly baked potato.

A perfect baked potato with a fluffy center and a crispy crust

First, step by step:

  1. Choose potatoes of those varieties with more starch. Wash it well with a peeler and cut it into two equal halves.
  2. Dry the potatoes with a paper towel, then salt and pepper them.
  3. Place it in a baking tray that you have previously greased generously with good olive oil. Use about 50 ml of oil.
  4. Place the pan in the oven heated to 200 C for about 20 minutes. After this time, carefully take the potatoes out of the oven, turn them over to the other side and sprinkle them with a special liquid. This consists of 200 ml of chicken broth, into which you previously squeezed the juice of one lemon and some freshly grated lemon peel.
  5. Mix the liquid well and pour it over the potatoes. Just make sure that the lemon peel does not end up on the potato, but in the liquid around the tuber. You can also add some herbs if you like.
  6. Return to the oven for 15 minutes, then turn the potatoes once more and let them cook until they have absorbed the liquid.
