Ingredients

    Ingridients:
  • 210 ml plain yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • lemon peel
  • 250 g of flour
  • half of baking powder
  • about 1 l of oil for frying
  • powdered sugar (for decoration)

Directions

  1. Mix yogurt, egg, sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl.
  2. Grate the lemon peel, add to the mixture and mix with your hands.
  3. Gradually add the baking powder to the mixture and mix until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep pan, which should reach a temperature between 160°C and 180°C. If you don't have a kitchen thermometer, you can help yourself by dipping the handle of a wooden cooking pot into the hot oil. If bubbles start to form around the handle, it means that the oil is hot enough.
  5. Add the mixture to the pan with the help of two spoons that you previously dipped in oil (this will make it easier for the mixture to slide off the spoon). Use one spoon to scoop up a little of the mixture (about the size of one mouse), and use the other spoon to dip the mouse into the oil.
  6. Fry the mice over medium heat until golden brown (about one minute on each side).
  7. When they are toasted, place them on baking paper, which will absorb the excess fat. Then sprinkle them with powdered sugar and serve. Bon Appetit!
