Ice cream is an indispensable companion on hot summer days. Although it can be enjoyed all year round, it is best enjoyed on hot summer days. During these days, we prepare various homemade ice creams, as we can add different ingredients to it and prepare it according to our taste and preferences. This time we have a recipe for making homemade chocolate ice cream for you.
Chocolate ice cream
Ingredients
- 300 ml of whole milk
- 200 ml of sweet cream (fresh, unsweetened)
- 100 g of sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 100 g dark chocolate (70 % cocoa)
- 2 teaspoons honey (meadow or acacia)
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
Directions
- Mix milk and cream together and bring to a boil. Set aside and add the diced chocolate and honey and stir with a whisk until melted.
- Mix the egg yolks and sugar with a whisk or mixer. Pour hot milk with chocolate into the yolk mixture and mix well. Then return to low heat and stir until the cream begins to thicken slightly. Make sure it doesn't boil.
- Pour the cooked cream (which is quite thin, i.e. liquid) into a container through a thick strainer and add vanilla extract to it. When it has completely cooled, put the mass in the refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours or even better overnight.
- Continue making the ice cream according to the instructions of the ice cream maker. 5. If you don't have an ice cream machine, simply beat the heavy cream and sugar until you get a thick whipped mass. Then mix it into sweetened condensed milk. Add the flavorings, if using, and pour the mixture into an airtight plastic container and freeze for an hour. Then take the ice cream out of the freezer every hour and stir it. Repeat this process at least four times. Then leave it untouched in the freezer for another two hours before serving.
