The hazelnut base will give wonderful nutty flavors, while the chocolate cream will be the main element of this pie. If you use dark chocolate, the pie will be a little more rustic, and with milk chocolate, it will be sweeter. To contrast the strong chocolate, add whipped cream or coconut milk on top.
Ingredients
- Ingredients for the hazelnut base:
- 350 g of hazelnuts
- 50 g of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of butter Ingredients for chocolate cream:
- 130 g of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 egg yolks
- 3 cups of milk
- 200 g of chocolate
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 sweet cream
Directions
- Fry the hazelnuts, clean them, cool them, then put them in a blender and chop them.
- Add sugar and cocoa powder to the chopped hazelnuts, mix the melted butter and pour the mixture into the pie mold.
- Press down the mass and bake for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
- During this time, prepare the cream by putting sugar, flour, salt, egg yolks in a bowl and mixing well.
- Place on low heat and add milk. Cook while stirring constantly.
- The cream should not boil. When the first bubbles appear, reduce the heat and stir for another minute or so, then set aside.
- Add chocolate, butter and vanilla to the cream. Cover the cream with plastic wrap, then store it in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Cover the baked hazelnut base with the cooled chocolate cream.
- Add sweet cream on top and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
