"Quiche" is a French savory open pie consisting of a crumbly dough made of eggs, butter, flour and a little salt and a delicious filling made of eggs, cheese, sweet cream, onions and any meat and vegetables. This time we chose ham and spinach as the filling, which together form an exceptional taste, and also give the quiche a colorful appearance.
Recipe for spinach quiche with ham:
For shortcrust pastry we need:
- 150 g of butter
- 280 g of flour
- 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese
- salt
For the filling we need:
- 600 g of spinach
- 250 g of smoked ham
- 200 g of sheep's cheese
- 100g of onion
- 150 ml of sweet cream
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
- nutmeg
- salt
- pepper
- butter
Preparation:
The dough is prepared by cutting the butter into slices and mixing it with flour and some water in a bowl. Season with a pinch of salt and grated Parmesan and knead into a crumbly dough. Roll out the dough and line a round pie pan with it. Then we start preparing the filling. Wash and dry the spinach, cut the onion and ham into strips. Fry the onion in a pan and when translucent, add the spinach to the pan. Wait for it to fall together, then season it with pepper, salt and nutmeg. Set aside and let cool slightly. Put the cooled mixture into a bowl and add the ham, sheep's cheese, sweet cream, 2 eggs and 2 tablespoons of breadcrumbs. Heat the oven to 200 degrees and pour the filling into the baking pan that we covered with the dough. Bake the quiche for about 45 minutes or until it turns golden yellow.
