Recipe: "fake fries" made from polenta

A healthy snack baked with very little oil that you can enjoy without a guilty conscience.

Polenta is most often prepared as a side dish to sauces. This recipe is a little different, prepare fake fries that will impress you with its taste.

The combination of spices gives it a special taste. It can be served with various sauces or as a side dish to meat.

Ingredients

  • 170 g of polenta
  • 500 ml of water
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
  • salt, pepper

Directions

  1. Pour water into the pot and when it boils, add the polenta and stir vigorously so that no lumps form. Add a little salt and cook for about 5 minutes to get a thick texture.
  2. Mash the garlic, then when the polenta is cooked, add the rest of the spices, mix and leave covered for a few minutes to cool.
  3. Pour it into a 20×20 pan lined with baking paper, spread it evenly and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes to harden.
  4. Heat the oven to 200 degrees.
  5. Carefully transfer the polenta to a cutting board, then use a sharp knife to cut it into strips similar to french fries.
  6. Arrange them on a baking sheet, drizzle with a little olive oil and fry for about 15 minutes until they get a crispy crust.
