Refreshed Hyundai i20: stylish transformation and improved technology

Hyundai unveils the refreshed Hyundai i20, featuring a redesigned look, updated technology and new color options. The popular hatchback now boasts a more advanced safety package and a choice of lively engines, while retaining its all-round appeal.

Hyundai plans to revive its popular hatchback Hyundai i20 with a host of updates for 2023 that will give it a sleeker look, expanded color options and even more advanced tech features. It is a South Korean car manufacturer i20 brought it more in line with the rest of its range, increasing its aesthetic appeal and improving its suite of safety features.

The most striking aspect of the refreshed i20 is the addition of three vibrant new colors: Lucid Lime Metallic, Lumen Gray Pearl and Mint Blue Pearl. These fresh shades combined with optional color package the Lucid Lime interior brightens up the i20's cabin and gives it a more modern feel. Inside, the seats now have vertical lines and embossed horizontal elements that add a touch of sophistication.

Tech-savvy drivers will appreciate the optional 10.25-inch instrument panel display and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Both systems support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which ensures seamless connectivity with your smartphone. Other available features include a wireless charging pad, premium Bose stereo and LED lighting with multi-color illumination.

Hyundai has also strengthened the safety package Smart Sense for the i20. Forward Collision Avoidance Assist now includes Cyclist Identification and Lane Keeping Assist is added to the range. Additional accessories such as rear cross collision assistance, blind spot collision prevention and smart cruise control are also available for greater peace of mind.

Under the hood, the refreshed i20 is powered by a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine available in two outputs: 99 horsepower (74 kW) or 118 hp (88 kW). A 48-volt mild hybrid assist system complements the engine for improved efficiency. Buyers can choose between a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual depending on their driving preferences.

The updated Hyundai i20 is expected to go into production in the third quarter of 2023 at the Hyundai plant Izmit in Turkey. While the automaker has teased additional variants for the i20, there are currently no plans to bring them to the United States.
