The legendary Renault 4L, or ʺKatrcaʺ, is celebrating its venerable 60 years. The opportunity was right, for a collaboration between Renault and renowned designer Mathieu Lehanneur, which resulted in a modern interpretation of the iconic car.

Renault SUITE N˚4 is a concept that presents a traveling hotel room that will be exhibited in a boutique Renault showroom on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. SUITE N˚4 is conceived as a moving room that is completely open to the outside world, and the view from it can be changed every time. The concept unites the world in itself of motoring and architecture, which can be located on the coast, in the forest, in the middle of a field or in a busy city center.

Renault SUITE N˚4 maintains the original external dimensions of the Katrca, and its rear part is made of transparent polycarbonate, which lets in an abundant amount of light inside. The roof is covered with translucent solar cells that help charge the concept, which has a full electric drive. The bodywork is coated with three layers of paint that recreates the mineral look cement. The interior gives the impression of homeliness and is designed as a home in the house. All the materials are made in France and provided by artists living in the Paris area.
