Renault Trezor - welcome to the future

Renault Trezor is the herald of the future of the French brand and a real concentrate of high technology, imagination and daring. The French presented their 'treasure' (vault in French means treasure) at the Paris Motor Show and with it overshadowed all other concepts and ignited the fight for electric supremacy. In Paris, practically all brands got on the electric train, and Renault proves that it remains in shape despite the offensive of new series models in the last year.

Renault Trezor is the future! Even though it doesn't seem like it, close! Renault has served new models like on a conveyor belt in the last year (Megane, Scenic, Talisman, Zoe ...), nevertheless, its engineers and designers still found time to prepare a bold concept, with the help of which they lived out their wildest dreams and predicted technological and design guidelines for Renault vehicles from 2020 onwards.

Renault will carve out its future models from Trezor.

Then they will start to upgrade their current design language, which they started to 'speak' in 2010 the Desire concept and it is spoken fluently by all production vehicles manufactured after 2012. If the predictions hold true, in four years Renault will offer completely safe technology 'look, mom, no hands' as standard. eyes-off/hands-off, which enables fully automatic driving. Trezor is powered by an electric motor, which is a version of the e-team motor Renault e.dams from the championship formula E.

Renault is not only considered a pioneer and leading brand in the field of electric vehicles in Europe, but also makes a huge contribution to the development of electric motor sports. Treasurys electric motor, installed under the passenger cabin, can 350 hp (260 kW) and 380 Nm of maximum torque, which allows it to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in four seconds.

It has two batteries (front and rear, for optimal weight distribution) and regenerative braking system with RESS technology (Rechargeable Energy Storage System), developed for Formula E. It also has a unique way of opening. Instead of a door, it's here retractable roof. It has a minimalist design, with expressive details.

Even under futuristic two-seater coupe Renault Trezor, which will be the muse for all future models of this French brand, was signed by the designer Laurens van den Acker, who proved with Trezor that he has not yet exhausted himself creatively. Dezir's design-technology-engineering genes all serial Renaults after 2012 have in them – Clio, Captur, Mega, Scenic, Kadjar and Talisman, and the same fate awaits serial models after 2020, which will carry the Trezor genetic record.

V steel and carbon fiber the Renault Trezor is 4.7 meters long, only 1.08 meters in height, making it one of the most dwarf cars in the world. Its drag coefficient is only 0.22! It stands at 21- or 22-inch rims with the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower. Engineers separated the axle suspension, and despite the two batteries that power it, it is no heavier than 1.6 tons.

It's on his nose active flaps, which only open when the battery is cooling, and the only openings are intended for cooling the brakes. The drive is sent to the last two wheels for better power transmission. The red-clad interior is as futuristic as the exterior. Don't look for buttons and switches. They are in charge of everything OLED screens, covered with curved glass Gorilla Glass, one is even located in the angular steering wheel. Surprised analog battery charge meter.

In the future, we will only read about switches and buttons in history books.

That it's about design excess, which leaves nothing to chance, is also evidenced by the fact that Renault invited to participate Keima Cycles, an expert in wooden bicycles, who helped them design the passenger cabin and trunk with wood.
