Research: Pre-workout caffeine can boost fat burning

Coffee can help you lose weight

Do you love the smell of fresh coffee in the morning? It is definitely one of our favorite stimulants, which can also have a beneficial effect on our health if we consume it in the right amount. We can't even imagine a morning without this intoxicating substance. What about you?

It is known that coffee has many positive effects, but this time scientists found that coffee before the start of training accelerates fat burning. A study on 15 younger men, where they found that three milligrams of caffeine per kilogram of body weight increased fat burning during exercise. Coffee as a stimulant is often associated with better athletic performance, although the scientific evidence behind this theory is not as extensive.

Analysis, which they published, indicate that caffeine increases exercise capacity, increases aerobic power, endurance. To investigate how caffeine promotes fat burning, scientists from the Department of Physiology at Spain's University of Granada studied the effect of caffeine intake on the maximal rate of fat oxidation in active young men during moderate exercise.

Fifteen volunteers, with an average age of 32, took part in four tests over four weeks. At 8 a.m. and at 5 p.m., they were given placebo and caffeine supplements, and after half an hour they began to exercise. The results showed that after consuming caffeine, fat burning increased by 10.7 percent in the morning and by as much as 29 percent in the afternoon. Spanish scientists say that consuming a strong cup of coffee or an equivalent amount of caffeine just before moderate-intensity aerobic training most effective in the afternoon, as this is when the maximum fat burning occurs.

However, it should be noted that excessive caffeine consumption can also cause unpleasant side effects, such as insomnia, nervousness, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, nausea and headache. In people with some health problems, such as an irregular heart rhythm, caffeine can only make these symptoms worse.

That's why it's important to be careful when consuming black coffee!
