Lake Reško is a real Kočevje gem and it's high time you went there for a wander!
When, in the 1970s, the Reški potok pond under the Kočevska Reka was dammed, a 20-hectare Rijeka Lake, which is the natural pearl of Kočevska Reka and the region.
Represents invaluable habitat, which provides a living environment for many fish species and many bird species. The forest reserve provides shelter to forest animals and beasts. The lower part of the lake is intended for fishing and other types of recreation, while the upper part is set aside as a breeding area for fish and nesting birds. There are also observatories by the lake that offer magnificent view of the wonderful surroundings of Reško Lake.
There is also a boat ride around the lake Eagle's Way, which with information boards and didactic aids offers visitors an insight into many interesting things from the life of the white-tailed eagle, which nests in the vicinity of the lake.
How to get to the lake? Drive to Kočevska Reka, from where it leads you marked path to the grove, and from there you will already be able to see the beautiful Reška lake.
