To celebrate the anniversary of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, Ressence presents the TYPE 9 S75 – a watch with a dial made of real sand from all seven emirates. Minimalist design, innovative mechanics and a literal connection to the environment create a true desert manifesto on the wrist.
Ressence TYPE 9 S75 is literally designed from the ground up. In collaboration with Dubai-based luxury watch retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the Belgian brand has unveiled a watch whose dial is covered with grains of sand from all seven emirates. This material is not just symbolic – it is actually part of the mechanics. The sand is bonded directly to the rotating titanium discs that make up the watch’s display.
Technology hidden in minimalism
The case is made of brushed titanium (Grade 5), 39 mm in diameter and 11 mm thick. Designed without a crown, a rotating bezel is used for setting and winding. The entire watch weighs only 40 grams and boasts exceptional ergonomics.
Instead of classic indicators, it uses Ressenza's ROCS 9 system (Ressence Orbital Convex System), in which the entire dial with satellite sub-discs moves orbitally. It is powered by a custom-made automatic movement based on the ETA 2892/2 with a 36-hour power reserve.
Visible at night, authentic during the day
The watch features engraved indexes filled with green Super-LumiNova that glow brightly at night. The top is protected by sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, and it is water-resistant to 10 meters (spray, not submersion).
Camel leather and limited availability
The strap is made of camel leather – another homage to local tradition. The width is 20mm for the case and 18mm for the buckle, which is also made of titanium. The watch is limited to 20 pieces and is available exclusively through Ressence and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.
Conclusion: A watch that tells more than time
More than a collector's item, the TYPE 9 S75 is a conceptual object that connects geography, design and watchmaking innovation. In an age of generic luxury, it offers something completely different: a watch that literally carries the story of a landscape. And the price?! 20,300 euros.
