ReTyre: A coat for your coat?

The Norwegian start-up company ReTyre has found a new way to quickly and elegantly change the tires on a bicycle, so that we can instantly adapt to the changed driving surface. After two years of research and tests, they presented a product with which we 'change' the tire on the bike and we already have a completely different 'rubber', with a profile that suits us better at that moment.

ReTyre, a coat exchange system, consists of two parts. The base is a reTyre tire to which a reTyre 'skin' is zipped. With help affirmative system and zippers we can exchange coats for different types of bases, and the whole process takes us less than a minute of time. Coats are made of 90% natural rubber and are currently available with three different profiles. We can choose between versatile a coat for everyday use, a coat with built-in 'pins' for driving in winter conditions and a coat for field driving.

They are also planning to make coats with built-ins LED lights and electronic ones components, which will communicate with the rider mobile device. In the future, coats should be made of 100% recycled rubber and even from coconuts fiber. Retyre covers are available in sizes 26, 27,5, 28 and 29 inches, and you can choose between different colors, that they will change clothes matched with the color of your bike frame. At the moment, the skins are available in Norway, and should be available nationwide next year European the continent.
