The Rimac Nevera R, a fresh iteration of the Croatian electric hypercar, is here to shake up the automotive industry once again. If you thought the regular Nevera was top notch, get ready to be blown away by the Nevera R. Limited to just 40 units, this hypercar boasts remarkable improvements that include more power, better cornering performance and aerodynamic optimization, making it one of the fastest cars in the world.

Rimac Cars, the Croatian manufacturer of electric hypercars, has already made history with the Nevera model as a manufacturer of one of the most powerful electric cars. With the new version of the Nevera R, presented at The Quail event as part of Monterey Car Week 2024, they went one step further.

Faith R boasts as much as 2,107 horsepower (1,571 kW) and 1,740 Nm of torque, which enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in an astonishing 1.74 secondse. To reach a speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) it only needs 8.66 seconds, and covers a quarter mile (402 meters) in 8.23 seconds. Although top speed is slightly lower than the regular Nevera at 412 km/h (256 mph), this hardly detracts from its impressiveness.

With an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.74 seconds, the Rimac Nevera R is currently the fastest accelerating production car in the world. This remarkable achievement puts it at the very top of hypercars focused on extreme speeds and performance. In comparison, Tesla Model S Plaid, which is also known for its exceptional acceleration, reaches 100 km/h in about 2.1 seconds, while the Bugatti Chiron, which is otherwise faster in top speed, needs about 2.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h. The Nevera R not only outperforms the internal combustion competition, but other electric cars as well. The Tesla Model S Plaid, with a 0-100 km/h time of 2.1 seconds, and the Lucid Air Sapphire, which achieves similar times, can't beat the Nevera R. Even other electric cars, such as the Aspark Owl, boast a time around 1.69 seconds, they belong to the same category, but they are not mass-produced to the same extent as Nevera.

Faith R it's not just fast on the flats; Rhyme has optimized this version for better cornering. The new aerodynamic design includes larger rear wings and a diffuser that increase downforce by 15 % and improve aerodynamic efficiency by 10 %. All this is supported by a new generation system for all-wheel torque distribution, which enables more precise and fast cornering. The new Michelin Cup 2 tires on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear rims provide optimal grip.

The battery pack has remained at a capacity of 108 kWh, but has been optimized and lighter, which together with the improved brakes (carbon-ceramic brake discs with the new Evo2 technology) allows the Faith R as much as 3.8 seconds faster on the Nardo circuit than the regular version. It's also important to note that only 40 examples will be built, meaning this car will be a true rarity, if not an instant collector's item.

Conclusion: The Rimac Nevera R is not just a car, but an engineering achievement that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in the world of hypercars. Its astonishing performance and rarity put it at the top of every car enthusiast's wish list. The price, which is likely to exceed $2.5 million (more likely than the 3.5), is not for everyone, but this is not a car for everyone - it is car for those, who are looking for an incomparable and exclusive experience of speed and technological perfection.
