Ringhouse is a tribute to the history of the famous car brand

Karina Wiciak of design studio Wamhouse has shared her latest design, which follows a series of houses inspired by famous logos. The latest incarnation, which goes by the name Ringhouse, was inspired by the German automaker Audi. However, this project does not only bear the shape of the Audi logo, but also reflects the history of the brand and the era in which it was born.

The logo, which has been associated with Audi for many years, was first created in the 1930s, when four companies united under the four rings. Ringhouse evidently refers to this form, as well as to modernist architecture, which was dominant in those days. In this design Wamhouse reinterprets the characteristics of this style, such as raw concrete structures, rounded walls and windows, open interior spaces and extensive glazing elements.

The house measures approx 280 square meters covers the ground floor level and an underground garage with additional rooms. The living space, which boasts high ceilings and spaciousness, was deliberately left without a second floor, despite the fact that the design itself allows for it. The purpose is to preserve the "readability" of the four circles. Therefore, this is not a modest family home, rather holiday residence located among natural vegetation.

The above-ground part of the house consists of large open spaces, partially partitioned with glass walls. Here there is a hallway with an open living room, a dining room and a music corner, a large kitchen, an office with a library, two bedrooms with private bathrooms, three toilets, two wardrobes and one storage room. Like the other houses in this series, the Ringhouse also has large window openings, which make the house immediately stand out.

The Ringhouse is a modern building, but as Wiciakova points out, it is "everything that is created today is the result of evolution and the continuation of what was once created. That's why it's worth remembering. The design of the house is a great way to tell an interesting story and not just the history of architecture.” The project therefore, in addition to presenting a unique and fantastic home, also reinterprets the past architectural style and tries to remind us of our common history.
