Rivian has revealed that their popular R1T and R1S models for 2025 will reach more than 1,025 horsepower. Ready for a new era of electric vehicles, these cars will push the boundaries of performance and technology. Who would have thought?! 1,025 horsepower in a regular family SUV!
When Rivian launched the R1T and R1S, the world of electric vehicles was already on its feet. Now, with the updated versions, the expectations are even higher, but Rivian did not disappoint us again. Not all of the changes may be immediately apparent to the eye, but big things are happening under the hood and in the cabin.

Let's start with the essential - strength. Rivian is now the proud owner of two vehicles with more than 1000 horsepower. If you already thought that 835 horsepower was too much, get ready for acceleration! The new quad-motor powertrain was upgraded to a whopping 1,025 hp (764 kW). But if you really want to feel all these horsepower, use the launch control function, which will squeeze as much as 1625 Nm of torque from the engine, and you will reach speed 0-100 km/h in stunning 2.5 seconds.
Photo: RivianIf that's too much for you, there's also a new three-engine version with a total output of 850 hp (634 kW) and 1,373 Nm of torque. That's more than enough for a convincing ride, even if you're going on an off-road adventure.
Updated batteries and increased range
Rivian also focused on batteries. The standard battery pack now uses new cell chemistry, while the Large and Max packs have lost some weight thanks to changes in construction. Max package now allows reach 676 km (420 miles), which is an increase from the previous ones 660 km (410 miles). This improvement is partly due to the new design of the heat pump.

The interior of the vehicles has been upgraded with a new infotainment system that provides a more intuitive user experience. The R1T and R1S vehicles are also equipped with the new “Autonomy” platform, which includes advanced driver assistance with 11 cameras and five radars. If that's not enough for you, you can choose an optional package Rivian Autonomy Platform+, which will add automatic lane change functionality with a future software update.
Photo: RivianBut for anyone who complained about the R1S riding too hard, we have good news: a new suspension with new springs, dampers and a recalibrated hydraulic roll control system will make for a smoother ride.
Prices and availability
Despite all the improvements, the starting price for R1T remained unchanged at $69,900, while the price for the R1S rose to $75,900. Both models still qualify for new electric vehicle tax credits, but only for $3,750. The new tri-motor models start at $99,900 for the R1T and $105,900 for the R1S, which is a bit more than the previous quad-motor versions, but these include the larger Max battery pack.
Deliveries of updated models R1S start already tomorrow, while we are still waiting for the date for R1T. And who knows, we may be expecting even more soon wild R1X!

Rivian proved once again that it can surprise. With increased power, improved technology and even better range, the R1T and R1S models are ready to take the electric vehicle world by storm. Prices remain competitive, which means that these electric "behemoths" will continue to reign supreme on the roads and in the hearts of electric vehicle enthusiasts.

Rivian has proven once again that it is possible to have it all - power, technology and durability.
