Behind the green curtain of ivy at the beginning of Mengš in the direction from Ljubljana, the Kamrca inn is hidden. Although we often drive by without noticing it, it is known by many guests for its excellent and homely offer. But the essence is hidden from the eyes, which is why it is not talked about much, because privacy and intimacy are precisely the advantages that the Potrpins, the owners of this refined homely inn, cultivate. Its interior also communicates the same philosophy. The rooms are furnished with selected antique furniture, full of original details, such as an old, still working gramophone. There are tapestries hanging on the walls, which are placed in the room, so that we feel like we are sitting at our grandmother's house, waiting for her to serve us our favorite dish. When we get a fragrant plate on the table, we are surprised. More than that – excited! The delicious flavors of their wide range mix in our mouths. This could be described as French-Italian cuisine with a Slovenian touch, but always with a note of surprise and originality. The varied offer changes almost daily, and the food is fresh and light and carefully prepared. Their specialties are horse fillets and pate, cabbage roulade with horseradish, Adriatic scampi, parfaits and various homemade cakes. The wine cellar is rich in domestic and foreign bottled wines, which are helped to choose by the friendly in-house wine consultant. For a perfect romantic evening by the glow of candles and with gentle nostalgic music in the background, they recommend the Calabrian canastrella style and for a sweet ending "chocolate erotica", as they like to call a baked chocolate pudding that you will never forget. With a prior reservation for several people, they are happy to serve you even outside of working hours.
