Samsung Galaxy Watch Active – a new look at smart watches

Samsung presented a significantly modified Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, which has little in common with its predecessor and relies on a slightly different philosophy. This is also why the latter deserves a little more of our attention.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is the latest watch to use Samsung's own Tizen software, and will be available for around €200 when it goes on sale on March 8.

The biggest change compared to previous Samsung watches, there's a lack of a rotating bezel, which we've quite liked in the past and made for a great user experience. Instead, the Active relies on its touchscreen and two side buttons for navigation. The latter is also observed in other manufacturers - for example, the Huawei Watch GT. Most of your interactions will consist of moving left and right through program menus.

Although it no longer uses an on-screen navigation ring, the Active has a screen with a thick, round bezel, which it does screen visually quite small and in some ways is the only thing we can criticize. What is essentially most important is that it is Active extremely light watch and therefore you can comfortably wear it on your wrist.

Active supports standard wireless charging Qi, which means you can use the Samsung Galaxy S10 to charge it or simply place it on any standard wireless charging station. And Samsung includes a wireless charger with Watch Active pre-orders.

In general, it looks interesting and quite minimalistic. It is available in a few different colors. For the latter, you can adjust the watch strap for a "funky" look.

The watch monitors blood pressure, in addition to the heartbeat, which is the largest functional change. With that said, this smartwatch leans very much into the activity tracker field and is one of a kind hybrid.

In addition, it has 4 GB of memory and supports as well Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile payments via NFC protocol. It can monitor more than 39 activities, monitors sleep, counts steps and has a built-in GPS. It's up to 5 meters deep waterproof and has 768 MB of internal memory and for 230 mAh large battery.

It's Samsung his philosophy ed with the new edition of the Samsung Galaxy Active watch, adapted to the market and made the watch much more affordable. The price of the watch, which is lower (around 200 eros), will help in the future build an ecosystem, in which users will feel great. The fact that the brand's "wearable" watch is increasingly becoming a "recorder" of activities and an extension of the phone is what they emphasized smart watch users. And Samsung heard them well with the new watch!
