Samsung has introduced the new Galaxy Watch Ultra, which boasts premium features and a robust design. Will it succeed in outshining the Apple Watch Ultra?
Samsung has finally unveiled its new star among smartwatches – the sporty one Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. Aiming to take the crown of the best, this watch has placed itself alongside the already established Apple Watch Ultra. But Samsung really has what it takes to win its biggest rival? Let's take a closer look. This time only with data, but we will soon also report that in a real test 1:1.
Design and display: both excellent, but still Samsung
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra comes in one size – 47mm, with a super-bright 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels that reaches up to 3,000 nits of brightness. This means that it will be readable even in the strongest sunlight. The titanium case and sapphire crystal ensure durability, while it is available in three stylish colors: Titanium Silver, Titanium Gray, and Titanium White.
The Apple Watch Ultra boasts a slightly larger 1.92-inch LTPO OLED display, but with a similar brightness of up to 3,000 nits. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is resistant to scratches and extreme temperatures, which puts it at an advantage when we talk about robustness.
Durability: Both extreme, but still Samsung
While the Apple Watch Ultra promises water resistance up to 100 meters, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is even better. It has the same IP68 certification and MIL-STD-810H military standard, which means it can withstand temperatures from -20°C to 50°C.
Battery and charging: an obvious advantage
This is where it gets really interesting. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra boasts a 590 mAh battery that allows up to 100 hours of operation in power saving mode or up to 48 hours in normal use (PhoneArena). The Apple Watch Ultra, on the other hand, offers about 36 hours of battery life on a single charge. Which means that Samsung is clearly leading in this category.
Functions and sensors:
Both watches are packed with premium sensors and health monitoring features. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra includes a new BioActive sensor that allows more accurate measurement of heart rate, sleep, blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation. In addition, there is the function of Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) to predict the risk of diabetes and stroke.
The Apple Watch Ultra, on the other hand, has an advantage in GPS accuracy, with dual-frequency GPS that provides better tracking during running and hiking activities.
Conclusion: Which one is better?!
Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is an impressive smartwatch that can seriously compete with the Apple Watch Ultra. With its robust design, premium features and long battery life, it is an excellent choice for sports and technology enthusiasts. However, the final verdict on which is better depends on personal preference and usage.
