If you are running out of time, at least walk from Piazza della Costituzione to the Bastione San Remy fortress, which once defended the Castello area.

Not far away is located Museo Archeologico Nazionale, where ancient remains discovered in ancient megalithic buildings called nuragi are on display. These are scattered all over the island, and interesting sculptures come from the Nuragic era. One is also located not far from Oristan, where you can also find ancient temples from 1200-1100 BC. To the east of Cagliari, the beautiful Costa Sud beaches await you, among the most beautiful are Porto Campana and Spaggia Sa Colonia, which are perfect for families with children. Cagliari is also an excellent starting point for birdwatching, as flamingos and other feathered species nest in its vicinity.
