One of the popular desserts that always takes us back to childhood are dumplings. We will present you a slightly different version of dumplings - semolina dumplings with jam.

Why semolina dumplings? Because they are made much faster than traditional potato dumplings, and they are also incredibly soft and tasty. This is a recipe that you can make even if you don't have a lot of time and will reward you with a delicious dessert suitable for the whole family.

Semolina dumplings with jam

Ingredients

  • 500 ml of milk
  • 250 g of flour
  • 250 g semolina
  • 150 g of breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons of grated chocolate
  • 1 baking powder
  • jam of your choice

Directions

  1. Boil the milk with semolina and then let it cool. This will give the dumplings the desired softness and juiciness.
  2. While the semolina is cooling, fry the crumbs in a little oil and let them cool.
  3. When the semolina is cooled, add the egg, baking powder, flour and grated chocolate. Knead everything well to get a smooth dough.
  4. Then form the dough into a roll and cut it into equal pieces. Each piece is then shaped into a dumpling and a spoonful of jam of your choice is added to it. This step will make for a delicious surprise in the middle of the dumpling.
  5. Depending on the size, we will get about 20 dumplings.
  6. Cook the dumplings in slightly salted, boiling water. When they float to the surface, cook them for another 3-4 minutes, then carefully remove them with a slotted spoon.
  7. For the finishing touch, the dumplings are rolled in the previously prepared breadcrumbs to give them a crispy crust that matches perfectly with the soft interior.
