Slovenian BMW fans got their money's worth in mid-March, as a completely new generation - the sixth in a row - of BMW 5 series sedans arrived at local dealers. Compared to its predecessor, the newcomer grew by a few centimeters and brought a fresh design to both the exterior and interior. Although the exterior is similar in some elements to the recently introduced 7 series, it is still quite distinctive and unique. There is more freshness in the interior, where Beemve's orientation towards the driver returns. It can be seen from the traditional turning of the center console towards the driver, which we missed in the previous generation, as it was not so pronounced. Among the main innovations brought by the new five is a rich list of very useful, but unfortunately, additional equipment: from the automatic parking system (the driver only controls the brake and gas), through an infrared camera that warns of pedestrians and wild animals ahead, head up display, which displays the main driving data, to the active radar cruise control and the warning of vehicles in blind spots. As a BMW representative told us during the test drive, this is the car with the most built-in cameras and sensors ever. Let's also note that the basic version is richly equipped and will satisfy slightly less demanding customers. The most economical diesel model 520d will come on the market a little later. The price? From a paltry 43,700 euros for the 523i.
