Ballet: Sleeping Beauty - a magical ballet at SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana

In February 2016, SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana will perform Sleeping Beauty, the famous ballet set to the music of the Russian great Tchaikovsky. Fairytales, romance and magic are the combination with which we can "cuddle up" in the coming month on February 6, 17, 18, 19 and 20 and thus ensure that the wait for spring passes faster.

The story of Sleeping Beauty comes from the work Charles Perrault's La Belle au bois dormant, which in literal translation would mean "Sleeping Beauty in the Forest". They also wrote their version of the story Brothers Grimm, a classic fairy tale about a sleeping beauty, a spell, a good and an evil fairy and a noble prince, has seen many stage, film, book and other adaptations since its inception.

In 2013, he took care of the first installation of Sleeping Beauty in our country Irek Mukhamedov, the then artistic director of the Ljubljana Ballet Ensemble. In his career, Mukhamedov was the first soloist of the famous Bolshoi Theater and the first soloist of the English Royal Ballet, and he also danced all the main male roles in all classical ballets in different parts of the world. We will be able to see her on stage in the role of Princess Aurora Tjašo Kmetec, Nino Noč and Giorgio Vailati, the conductor of the ballet with many pas de deux, romantic ensemble scenes and variations will be Marko Gasperšič.

The magical Sleeping Beauty, who will take us to a fairytale world for at least one evening in February and thus shorten our wait for spring in the cold month, will February 6, 19 and 20 on view at 6 p.m., February 17 and 18 and at 7:30 p.m.
