In addition to the clio, Slovenians also love the VW representative of the B-segment, as evidenced by the market results of recent years, if not decades. Design changes are expectedly discreet, more changes are hidden from view. Especially in advanced technology, where as the first segment it gets LED lights, radar cruise control and an adaptive chassis system
The design changes are as expected discreet considering the badge on the nose, and include modified headlights, engine cover, more chrome on the nose of the vehicle, different fog lights, taillights and bumper, and now also an option LED headlights, which in this segment are still considered pure exotics.
Inside, passengers are greeted with new upholstery and different door trims, while in front of the driver, new gauges are now trimmed with chrome. The steering wheel is also new, the central part of which is surrounded by piano black. The climate control switches are also different, which is now automatic from the second package onwards, and above it there is a new infotainment system screen in sizes from 5 to 6.5 inches. There are even more innovations in the field of advanced technology and assistance systems. It is always a part of the standard equipment multi-year braking system, and in the list of additional payments we also find ACC radar cruise control, flexible chassis sport select (lower by 15 mm), driver fatigue detection system, a reversing camera and an automatic parking system – pilot park.
As before, there are three basic equipment packages: trendline, comfortline and highline, as mentioned the second already means auto AC, and from the beginning an audio device, a small electrical package, remote central locking, ESC and four airbags are available. The highline package adds additional tinted windows from the B-pillar onwards, 16" alloy wheels, fog lights with cornering function and conncetivity package (AUX, USB and bluetooth).
There are no major changes to the engines, but all units are now cleaner and already fit Euro6 standards regarding exhausts. On the gasoline side, there are 1.0- and 1.2-liter power units with power from 55 to 81 kilowatts, and on the diesel side, there are two versions of the 1.4 TDI with 55- and 66-kilowatt power. The gearbox is basically a five- or six-speed manual, but with the TSI and TDI units, the buyer can also get a DSG automatic transmission.
Autumn comes to the market yet bluemotion version, as well as sporty GTI, which should gain a little power (5 or 10 additional hp). Prices start at 12,218 euros for the petrol version (1.0 trendline) and 15,779 euros for the diesel version (1.4 TDI 66 kW comfortline), and the importer offers a discount on all versions in the amount of 1,500 to 2,000 euros and an additional 800 euros for financing.
