Are you curious about the price of the Smart #5 - which we will reveal to you in this article. A car that charges at a speed of 400 kW, has 640 horsepower (471 kW) and a projector with a 200-inch screen? If you had told someone this a decade ago, they would have asked you if you had just fallen from the planet Tesla. And yet, that is exactly what the new Smart #5 offers, attacking the European market as a futuristic cross between a premium electric vehicle and a technological marvel.
First, to the point – this is no longer the Smart that fits in every pocket – also the Smart #5 Price. The Hashtag 5 is big, bold and damn fast. It is built on Geely's SEA platforms (Sustainable Experience Architecture), namely on a larger version, which is also used by Zeekr 007. That means that no based on Volvo EX30 (SEA-M), but it is bigger, more powerful and more advanced. It is a true electric monster, closer to a sporty crossover than to the urban microcar we once knew.
Dimensionally, it falls somewhere between the Volvo EX30 and Polestar 4, which means that it is no longer a mini city warrior, but a specific electric vehicle that is closer to classic SUVs.
Two batteries, 400 kW charging and (maybe) a good price
We are still waiting for the official price in Europe, but in China it costs around $35,000 (approximately €32,500)According to initial estimates, the EU could stand around 45,000 euros or more, as European duties and local costs will be added.
Two battery options are available. Basic version has 65- or 70-kWh LFP battery, which offers solid autonomy, but is nothing special. More interesting is the version with a 100-kWh NMC battery., which enables amazingly fast charging. With 400 kW of power is filled from 10 to 80 percent in just 15 minutes, which is faster than the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
In addition to its impressive charging technology, the Smart #5 also has a powerful drive. A version will be available with an incredible 640 horsepower, which means you'll put many a sports car to shame at traffic lights. However, the driving characteristics they are not entirely sporty, because due to its size and weight it doesn't drive as sharply as a real hot hatch.
Interior: A projector that turns your car into a home theater
One of the most interesting features in the Smart #5 is built-in projector with 200-inch screenIf you love outdoor movie nights, you can open the hidden cinema system in the trunk and enjoy Netflix marathons under the stars.
Of course, Smart hasn't forgotten about all the other tech goodies – digital screens, head-up display and even a Sennheiser sound system The interior is spacious, full of ambient lighting and digital features that we expect from a modern electric vehicle.
In addition, it is equipped with smart driver assistance systems and features such as single-pedal driving, automatic parking and even a camping mode, where the cabin is adjusted for a comfortable stay in the vehicle.
How is it going?
The Smart #5 is powerful, but not particularly sporty. Due to its greater mass, it leans in corners and doesn't give the feeling of sharpness that you would expect from such power. But as an everyday car it works great – The single-pedal drive is excellently set up, the seats are comfortable, the interior is spacious and charging is extremely fast.
Because it's about a larger version of Geely's SEA platform, also used by the Zeekr 007, it is expected that the Smart #5 will be more stable and comfortable at higher speeds than smaller models.

Price of Smart #5?! It all depends on the price. If it costs around 45,000 euros in Europe, it could be a great alternative to the Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ford Mustang Mach-E. But if the price exceeds 50,000 euros, will have a harder time competing with established premium electric vehicles like the Tesla Model Y or Polestar 4.
