Tech giant Xiaomi has launched Xiaomi Smart Glasses – a brand new smart wearable device. Xiaomi smart glasses integrate the imaging system and sensors into a subtle, regular shape of glasses through MicroLED technology, which enables a completely new user experience. With Xiaomi smart glasses weighing only 51 grams, you can read messages and reminders, make calls, navigate, take photos and translate text right in front of your eyes.
Advanced MicroLED technology – the future before your eyes
Xiaomi smart glasses use MicroLED technology, which affects the structural design, as well as the total weight of the device. Like OLED, the light points in MicroLED are illuminated individually - this enables brighter screens and deeper blacks. But MicroLED has higher pixel density, a longer service life and at the same time a simpler structure. This in turn also means a more compact screen and its easier integration.
The Xiaomi smart glasses have a screen that measures just 2.4mm x 2.02mm. Under the microscope, the screen is the size of a grain of rice, and the individual pixels of 4 μm allow it to be the screen is completely integrated into the frame of the glasses. The extremely efficient monochrome display solution allows sufficient light to penetrate through the complex optical structures to reach the eyes, even in strong direct sunlight.
Using optical waveguide technology that refracts light at 180°, the MicroLED display accurately transmits light rays to the human eye through the microscopic grating structure of the optical waveguide lens.
This is not an auxiliary display of a smartphone, but a standalone smart wearable device
Xiaomi smart glasses they combine a total of 497 components, including miniature sensors and communication modules, so they are not only an “auxiliary screen” for your smartphone, but act as a new smart terminal with independent operation capabilities. In addition to basic notifications, such as the display of calls, they can also independently perform other functions: navigation, photography, teleprompter and translations of text and photos in real time. Smart glasses will also notify you of important information in a timely manner and ensure minimal interference in moments when this is not desired.
A phone call is the most common way to use smart glasses. When someone calls you, you will be able to see the caller's number displayed on the screen. With a built-in special microphone and speaker, both parties can hear each other clearly. Navigation it is very useful when driving and cycling. Xiaomi smart glasses can show roads and maps in real time, so you can travel safely and comfortably.
5MP camera it can also take photos and translate text in photos on the front of the glasses, which is very convenient when traveling. Using a built-in microphone and translation algorithm, Xiaomi smart glasses can transcribe audio to text with real-time translations. When the camera is in use, the indicator light next to the camera lights up, indicating that a photo is being taken.
To achieve such a high level of functionality, the glasses must be equipped with quad-core ARM processor, battery, touchpad, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, Android operating system and we could go on and on. Despite all the listed functions, the device weighs only 51 grams. All this allows Xiaomi smart glasses to resemble traditional glasses, but surpass other existing smart glasses in terms of functionality.
