Ford has created a special fragrance for all those who want to drive the modern Mustang Mach-E GT, but are still attached to the traditional smell of a car with an internal combustion engine.
At Ford conducted a survey and found that as many as one in five drivers would miss the smell of gasoline if they decided to buy an electric car. When asked if they would at least partially miss the smell of gasoline, the answer was yes 70% asked. The smell of gasoline ranked even higher than the smell of wine or cheese and is almost as popular as the smell of old ones books. Mach-Eau was created with the aim of helping smell, brought electric cars closer to people. But here it is not just the smell of gasoline, but a quality fragrance that combines shades of smoke and tires.
The Mach-Eau fragrance was created in collaboration with a renowned fragrance consultancy Olfiction. The first thing they paid attention to during development were the chemical compounds emitted by the engine, tires, car interior and gasoline. Two of the compounds are benzaldehyde, the almond-like smell emitted by car interiors, and methylphenol, which is key to recreating tire smells. They also added blue ginger, lavender, geranium and sandalwood, which accentuated the smoky and rubbery notes of the scent. An animal element was added, which is related to horses and the tradition of the wild Mustang.
