SOF 2025: New location. New speakers. New shifts in advertising

The Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF) returns with fresh questions, bold debates and selected names that push the boundaries of the industry. This year, the 34th edition of the festival will take place on May 15-16, 2025 at a new location – Magazin Grandu in Portorož. The event, where the best in advertising meet, will provide sharp insights into the future of the industry and challenge established approaches.

Among the speakers stand out: Stefan Sagmeister, recipient of two Grammys, which was designed for The Rolling Stones, the Guggenheim Museum and HBO, Adam Morgan, author of a groundbreaking book Eating the Big Fish and the thought architect of challenging brands, Alex Turtschan, Director of Innovation at Mediaplus Group, which dissects the impact of new trends on the media landscape, Chris Erthel, co-founder AdUniverse, which combines analytics and creativity for global advertising success, and John Thornton, songwriter at Surreal Cereal, who will show in his own style how brands convince people to actually like their ads.

The festival will raise some key questions: Luka Bajc, Robert Bohinec and Jure Korenč, three creative directors, will reflect on what we learn from defeats about boldness and action. Blaž Brodnjak, President of the Board NLB, and An actual Turk, President of the Board A1 for Slovenia and Croatia, they will be in conversation “Advertising – love story or forced marriage?” dissected the meaning of advertising budgets and their own vision of communication. Within the framework Mastercard® Inspiration Podcast will be Borut Pahor, former president of the country, debated live with Bojan Cvjetićanin, the frontman of the band Joker Out.

SOF will also discuss entrepreneurial stories: Petra Parovel and Patricia Šelih will reveal how they built successful businesses from social networks, Toni Vodušek, Olympic vice-champion in kitesurfing, will shed light on the price of top-level sport. They will be joined on stage by Katarina Lotric (Gentler Stories), Miha Jagodic (Bloq.it) and Alen Cvišić (That's it.), who will share insights into the development of products that are conquering markets. Nika Kovac and the team Institute of March 8 will present how the European initiative “My Voice, My Choice” Overcame initial mistakes and attracted support million Europeans and famous names such as Mark Ruffalo, Barack Obama and Pink.

The festival will culminate with Golden night, celebrating the best in the advertising industry, and concluded with Europlakat X party, where it will be Siddhartha provided an energy surplus.
