STILRIDE 1 brings the art of origami to life with its swan-like electric motorcycle, featuring an ultra-light chassis and a top speed of 100 km/h (62 mph). STILRIDE 1 is expected to change the world of electromobility with its sustainable and elegant design.
STYLERIDE 1, which combines the elegance of a swan with the power of an electric motorcycle, is an innovative creation of Sweden of the STILRIDE start-up. The company drew inspiration from the ancient art of origami, folding steel sheets into a unique and attractive motorcycle design. Sleek and streamlined, STILRIDE 1 is not only a visual marvel, but also an engineering masterpiece that promises to set a new gold standard for sustainable electromobility.
This one motorcycle, which is approved for use in road traffic, is powered by a permanently installed battery that allows maximum speed 100 km/h (62 mph) and a range of about 120 km (75 miles). The ultra-light body, made of recycled Swedish steel, is adapted to the design of industrial origami and provides exceptional rigidity and stability. The padded saddle, reminiscent of a swan's feathered tail, further emphasizes the elegant aesthetic STYLERIDE 1.
Innovative folding technique STYLERIDE, called technology STEELFOLD, uses in-house software to intelligently define a layout from scanned steel, creating geometries that follow complex and curved lines. The design is then fed to an automated robot that expertly folds and shapes the steel into the desired shape. As steel expert Henrik Sieurin explains, "the freedom of design made possible by the STILFOLD technology offers a unique opportunity to optimize the use of the material. High-strength steel can be formed into complex shapes that create exceptional stiffness.”
Safety and performance are also at the forefront of the design STYLERIDE 1. Its braking system is co-developed with ISR, the world's leading brake supplier based in Sweden, while the master cylinder is integrated into the handlebars for a clean look. The anti-lock braking system is supplied by automotive technology giant Continental.
The first series STYLERIDE 1, called 'Limited Founders Edition', represents individually produced and numbered electric motorcycles with black fenders and black details. These models made to order in the workshop STILRIDE in Stockholm, will be delivered in 2024. The retail price for a single STILRIDE 1 motorcycle is 15,000 EUR or about $16,320 at the current exchange rate.
Technical director and co-founder of STILRIDE, Tue Beijer, is excited: “STILRIDE 1 is the culmination of years of ambition, passion and experimentation, distilled into a wonderfully unconventional lightweight electric motorcycle that is not only a feat of engineering but also a work of art. It was designed for motoring enthusiasts as well as design and durability purists. We can't wait for our first customers to experience the sheer joy of our driving and join us in setting a new gold standard for sustainable electromobility. "
S STYLERIDE 1 is a Swedish startup ready to rewrite design rules for sustainable, lightweight electric vehicles. The origami-inspired fusion of robotics and steel folding in this stunning motorcycle is sure to capture the hearts of motorcycle enthusiasts and eco-conscious riders alike.
