The Boom supersonic passenger plane will be 3x faster than the competition

Boom supersonic passenger plane

Recently, Nasa announced the creation of a supersonic passenger plane, the QueSST Passenger Jet, and now the Denver startup Boom Technology (working with Richard Branson's Virgin), which wants to bring supersonic flight to the masses, has presented its candidate. With the Boom plane, we will be from London to New York in a mere three and a half hours, which is half as fast as before.

Boom Technology with a plane Boom it revives the spirit of the "down-to-earth" Concorde, legendary supersonic aircraft with a "broken" nose. It is a journey by passenger planes that fly at supersonic speed and that lasts from in 2001 (then Concorde was retired), so it is not only the American space agency Nasa that plans to discontinue it. 40-seater Boom is supposed to fly at speed 2700 km/h or with 2.2 mach (two machs were aimed at the Concorde) and will be capable of distance from London to New York overcome in just 3 hours and 40 minutes, which is one time faster than today's passenger planes (we will save as much as 3.6 hours).

There will be a charge for the return ticket 5 thousand US dollars (Concorde charged 12 grand). True, the price is not low, but it is comparable to business class prices, with the important difference that we cover the distance in half the time. And because time is money...

The Boom supersonic passenger plane will be built from carbon fiber and will consequently be much easier and more economical than the competition (30 percent compared to Concorde). It will also be quite a lot quieter than the Concorde, who "scratched like a jesihar" (besides the high costs, this was one of the main criticisms against him). Seat types will be single, so that every passenger will have a view through the window and unobstructed access to the passage. He was supposed to fly to 500 relations.
