The Suzuki Jimny 5-Door has finally arrived and is everything we hoped for and more. As an off-road enthusiast, I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of this compact SUV and I can safely say that it did not disappoint.
From outside Suzuki Jimny 5-Door maintains the iconic upright and the boxy shape of the previous model, but with a few key updates that make it stand out. The main color Kinetic Yellow is a refreshing change from the usual grays and blacks that dominate the market, while the black roof provides a nice contrast. Widened wheel arches, round headlights, slatted front fascia, exposed rear hinges and all-terrain tires are familiar elements that have been carried over from the 3-door model and together give the car a rugged yet sophisticated look.
But it's not just about looks; Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is made for use on the most difficult terrains. With a 36-degree approach angle, 24-degree break-in angle, 50-degree departure angle and 210mm of ground clearance, this car is ready to take on anything you throw at it. And with a choice of 2WD-high, 4WD-high and 4WD-low modes, you can fine-tune your driving experience to suit the terrain.
The interior is another highlight 5-door Jimny. Although it carries over many elements from the 3-door model, it has been significantly enlarged to provide more space for passengers and cargo. The rear bench seats up to three passengers and has boot space with the rear seats up 208 liters (7.3 cubic feet), which can be increased to 332 liters (11.7 cubic feet). And, of course, the handle on the passenger side of the dashboard and the artificially exposed screws are nice additions that give the car a sense of character.
Technologically, the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is well equipped. The 9-inch infotainment system is equipped with a wireless system Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reversing camera and the Arkamys sound system. In terms of safety, the car has Hill Descent Assist along with six airbags, ESP and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD).
Under the hood, the Jimny 5-Door runs mild hybrid 1.5 liter petrol motor that produces 105 hp at 6,000 rpm and 134 Nm (99 lb-ft) at 4,400 rpm. The car is equipped with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission with torque converter, so you can choose the one that best suits your driving style.
All in all, the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is a fantastic compact SUV that offers a great balance of style, performance and practicality. It's perfect for off-road enthusiasts, families and anyone looking for a car that can do it all.
