What happens when Swiss watchmaking meets the world of digital smartwatches? With the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5, we get the answer — a watch that doesn't just want to be "smart," but wants to become a fashion statement accessory, steeped in technology.

With its latest generation of smartwatches, TAG Heuer has proven that technology and prestige don't have to speak different languages. The new TAG Heuer Connected Caliber E5 is not just a successor – it is a new beginning. After years of working with Google’s Wear OS, the team in La Chaux-de-Fonds decided to take a bold step: develop their own operating system, customize the user experience and connect the watch to the Apple world. The result? The most confident smartwatch TAG Heuer has ever created.

New engine under the hood

TAG Heuer has abandoned Wear OS to create something more its own – a faster, more responsive and cleaner system that works on all major platforms. The watch is now certified as Made for iPhone, meaning it talks to iOS devices as elegantly as if it were one of them. At the same time, it remains fully compatible with Android.

The user interface is designed according to TAG's philosophy - minimalism with a touch of luxury. Navigation is smooth, menu transitions are fluid, and once you feel the tactile response of the screen, going back to another smartwatch feels like a step back in time.

Two sizes, one character

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 is available in two versions – 40 mm and 45 mmThe smaller, more urban and sophisticated model is available in stainless steel or rose gold PVD, with sapphire crystal that flows smoothly over the screen and frame. The larger, more sporty model retains the classic rotating bezel and rugged character, with the option of a black DLC coating.

Both models feel natural on the wrist. TAG has maintained a sense of watchmaking mass and precision – you wear the watch not because it's smart, but because it's beautiful.

A mind that does not boast

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 doesn't try to compete with Apple or Samsung. It won't show you a thousand features you don't need. Instead, it offers what counts: reliability. activity tracking, exactly heart rate measurement, Dual-band GPS and voice calls via the built-in speaker.

TAG Heuer has made sure the watch retains the feel of a traditional sports watch – with the digital tools acting as an enhancement, not a distraction. The AMOLED display is extremely high-contrast, readable even in sunlight, and responsive to every touch.

And of course – because it's TAG Heuer – it also has the famous Golf Mode, with maps of thousands of courses around the world, tailored for players who like to combine sport with style.

A battery that lasts more than a meeting

TAG Heuer promises two days of use on a single charge, which in practice means a day and a half of intensive use. In economy mode, it can last up to three days. Charging is fast, magnetic and flawless in style. What's even more interesting – TAG Heuer allows in its boutiques battery replacement, which extends the watch's lifespan and sets it apart from most smartwatch competitors.

Digital soul, Swiss heart

The aesthetics of the E5 are where TAG Heuer really shines. The new interface offers dials that reinterpret the house’s legendary models – the Carrera, Aquaracer and Monaco – now in a digital guise. Every detail is thought out: the shadow of the hands, the glint of the metal, even the subtle movement of the seconds hand. This is not a screen, this is a microcosm of Swiss precision, brought to life digitally.

The price of prestige

Luxury comes at a price. The Calibre E5 costs from 1,800 to 2,200 euros, depending on the size and material. But TAG Heuer has never targeted the masses – it targets those who understand the difference between expensive and valuable.

An interesting addition to the offer is also special edition in collaboration with New Balance, designed for runners who want to combine high performance with aesthetics. Titanium, black DLC treatment, new color palette – a watch that looks like a sports supercar attached to the wrist.

A watch that doesn't follow trends, but creates them

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 isn't an attempt to catch up with Apple. It's the Swiss answer to the question of what a smartwatch should look like if it was designed by a watchmaker, not an engineer. It's not perfect – but it's ambitious, elegant and confident.

If you're looking for a device that measures every breath and vibrates with every notification - this is not the watch for you. But if you want a piece that measures time with character, combines tradition with innovation and doesn't hide its prestige, then the Calibre E5 is exactly what TAG Heuer promised from day one: a smartwatch that's still a watch.
