The jubilee sales exhibition of foreign books Frankfurt after Frankfurt 2016 is approaching, which will traditionally be held at the Konzorcij bookstore. The ceremonial opening of the thirtieth exhibition will take place on November 14, 2016 in front of the Ljubljana City Hall. Just as ecology is the red thread of Ljubljana this year due to the title of Green Capital of Europe 2016, the same applies to Frankfurt after Frankfurt, which appears under the slogan 'I read green'. Books on the topic of ecology and nature protection are in the foreground. There will also be two lectures on the topic of ecology on the opening day. The sales fair will take place until November 19, 2016.

Good news for bookworms. People who read books live longer than those who don't. A study in the Proceedings of Social Science & Medicine notes that one of the positive effects of reading books is a longer life. Check how many years longer regular readers live than non-readers. Gustave Flaubert was so right when he claimed that it is easier to endure our existence if we regularly turn to literature.

Did you know that trees have emotions, memory and feelings, that they communicate with each other and care for each other? Amazing things happen in the forests, which the forester and 'tree whisperer' Peter Wohlleben sheds light on in his book. His book The Hidden Life of Trees, which became a global bestseller, was also given a documentary film Intelligent Trees, which offers us a unique insight into the mysterious world of trees and teaches us to admire the wonders of nature. With this realization, those living trees from The Lord of the Rings make a lot more sense.
