When you close your eyes and think of Christmas, you immediately see the colors red and green. We all love this holiday, but we rarely think about the symbolism of the objects and traditional colors that connect this holiday. Colors are often associated with important events and dates, they have interesting stories behind them, full of details from the history, traditions and customs of many peoples.
Christmas
Christmas is a time when we take time for our loved ones. Many also see it as an opportunity to show their neighbors the luxurious decoration of their home. Unfortunately, such attempts usually fail.
The atmosphere of the underground karst is as if created for the biblical setting of the living nativity scene, which can be experienced in Postojna Cave in December. We can also admire the tallest Christmas tree in the underground.
The living nativity scene was first erected in Postojna Cave in 1989 and has developed into a real Christmas spectacle to this day. The Living Nativity in Postojna Cave 2016 will be on display between December 25 and 30, 2016, and fairy-tale biblical scenes will come to life at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Legend has it that Christmas stockings became one of the symbols of this holiday when Santa Claus threw 3 sacks of gold out the window to a poor farmer who wanted to marry his three daughters, but did not have enough money, and one of them landed right in socks. When the girls and their father woke up in the morning, the first thing they saw was a stocking filled with gold, and they were overjoyed.
