Many of us have already experienced how volunteer work, either at home or abroad, can enrich our lives. Be it teaching children, helping people in need or volunteering for the preservation of animal species - these are all actions by which we contribute our part in the mosaic of a more beautiful world.
elephants
Just you and your significant other, stars in the sky and a herd of elephants in their natural habitat.
Since 2011, on August 12, we have celebrated World Elephant Day, which is dedicated to raising awareness, spreading knowledge and finding solutions for a better tomorrow for both wild elephants and elephants living in captivity (zoos, circuses, etc.). Elephants, which are one of the nine species of animals that masturbate in addition to humans, face many challenges, especially illegal hunting, which has greatly reduced their population and will soon become an endangered species. And we will not act like an elephant when we say that they are even threatened with extinction at this rate of killing. African elephants are currently a vulnerable species, while Indian elephants are an endangered species.
Of course, elephants are not people. But they approach us in many ways. And it is sad that as many as 35 thousand were killed in 2013, all for the sake of the precious ivory. Some environmentalists are warning that most elephants will be extinct by 2020, so it's time to stop this careless treatment. Our history is intertwined with elephants, and we learn something new about their intellect time and time again. Many studies show that this is a friendly, self-confident and very loyal creature. Well, they're not that different, are they?
