The beginning of summer, vacation, packing and going to the sea, mostly to the Croatian coast. This is the classic formula of a Slovenian holiday. But where can a surfer or someone who would like to learn to surf the waves go? Here, we should not mix windsurfers and real surfers who catch waves on the open sea. Few people know that there are much more of them in Slovenia than it seems at first. Even less that there is even a surf scene with clubs, courses and sports federations and competitions. The first and most successful Slovenian surfer is the Argentinian Slovenian Jože Žurga, who caught his first wave in the early 1960s. He is considered a legend of surfing in South America, but unfortunately the gentleman was not a pioneer on the local scene and on the nearby Adriatic coast. Thus, according to the Surf Federation of Slovenia, the boys who set up the first surf school and club in 1999 - Ujusansa - are considered the pioneers of organized surfing at home.

Surfing, BASE jumping and ziplining are all adrenaline sports in their own right, and the team The Flying Frenchies, for whom adrenaline is a drug, has combined all three extreme sports in one ultimate adrenaline experience that will make your skin crawl!
Adventurer Alison Teal, also known as the female version of Indiana Jones, became the first woman in history to surf in close proximity to an erupting volcano. Amazing footage comes from Hawaii, more precisely from the immediate vicinity of the Kilauea volcano, which is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and has been active for over 30 years (since 1983). Its lava often flows into the sea, and it was Alison Teal who took advantage of this incredible scenery for stunning photos. They were captured by underwater photographer Perrin James.
The Surfph-o-morph surfboard collection is the result of a collaboration between the Italian designer Giulia Iacchetti and the designer of Surfer's Den, Francesca A. Fiorentia. The design for surfboards, which will be presented for the first time at this year's Design Week in Milan in mid-April, was found right where their "home" is, in the vast oceans.
The Bond stuntman, a contemporary of Evel Knievel and holder of many records, has taken his incredible antics on a motorcycle to a whole new level. Because if Jesus walked across the Sea of Galilee, Knievel's reincarnation, Robbie Maddison, rode the waves off the coast of Tahiti on a motorcycle! Don't believe it? Check it out for yourself!
Piglet Babe may be a movie star, but in Kam he has some serious competition for the title of the most popular piglet in the world. Because what could be cooler than a pig surfing? We have known for a long time that pigs are very intelligent animals, but that they are so motorically capable is something new. Ever since Kama discovered Sandy beach in Hawaii, surfing has been inseparable. Because he is not waiting for a full trough but for ideal waves. And a video taken with a GoPro camera has the proof.
Although the word surfing has taken on a new meaning in the last two decades, displacing even the original from the top spot, surfing, whether on the water or online, remains a leisure activity that is much more difficult to master than clicking and scrolling a wheel on a mouse. And since surfing is one of the coolest sports, even celebrities can't resist its charms, even if they are a mismatched 'couple' with a board.
Waves. The eternal variable for surfers on the water. One time they are too big, the second time they are too small, the third time they are not there. We recently wrote about the surfer paradise Snowdinia, a reservoir lake with artificial waves that carry surfers up to 150 meters and remove many variables from the equation. What if we told you that you can now take the waves out of the equation? That you can also surf on the Slovenian coast, whether there are waves or not? This is what the Onean electric surfboard offers, which is ideal for all those who don't have the patience to wait for the right wave and would like to glide across the surface of the water wherever and whenever they want.
Melbourne, Australia's Victoria Harbor may soon be richer for a floating surf park that allows you to ride waves up to 1.5 meters high. Architecture studio Damian Rogers is planning a 160-meter-long heated pool, where it will be possible to create artificial waves in a controlled manner.
Tin Barbo Gruden came to Portugal just over four years ago, as an Erasmus student, and stayed there. Surfing, the ocean and the Portuguese way of life inspired the creation of the Surfgasm Lisbon Surf Club, the Erasmus Housing Lisbon agency, which rents out apartments to students, travelers and tourists, and the cultural association ArtCasa, which connects and represents the cultures of countries such as Portugal, Cape Verde, Italy and Slovenia . If we are in a hurry in Lisbon, Tin is the man who will open his doors wide and show us Lisbon through his eyes.
One thing is clear when looking at Teahupo'o in Tahiti from the air - surfing or "surfing" in French Polynesia is no joke. In drone footage, cameramen Brent Bielmann and Eric Sterman highlight the dangers and beauty hidden in the waves on a small tropical island.
Laird Hamilton is a surf legend and legends never die! This is obvious because he challenged fate in a very special way and impressed the crowd of spectators.
