The father of Tesla, Elon Musk, tweeted that the electric Roadster, the model that put Tesla on the global automotive map, is getting an upgrade and that it will be a real "long-distance runner" just like the gasoline ones. The new Tesla Roadster 3.0 is said to be able to travel 644 kilometers on a single charge, which is a third (31%) more than we have been able to squeeze out of the Roadster so far.
The Electric Roadster 3.0 is an upgrade to the original model. In it, at Tesla, they incorporated ideas and knowledge that they had collected over the years, or kilometers, especially at to the S model in whose shadow the Roadster has lived for the last few years.
Three novelties received the most attention and spilled ink: less air resistance or better aerodynamics, less wheel friction or lower rolling resistance and lithium battery with better "condition". The latter can now 70 kWh, but despite this, it is of the same height as the ancestor. Some cosmetic, but not accidental, tweaks to the car's profile meant that the drag coefficient was reduced by 15%, i.e. from 0.36 to 0.31.

In addition to the fact that the Roadster 3.0 went "under the knife", Tesla also took care of the renewed appearance with "footwear". Z low rolling tires have scaled the resistance by approx 20% (from 0.011 to 0.0089), and they also added their own better brakes and bearings. How many of these innovations will be transferred to the S model is not yet known, nor is the price of the refreshed Roadster. But it is known that it should second generation The Roadster came to showrooms in 2017.
