Tesla S gets the convertible treatment

The American company produced the Tesla S with a sliding roof and already received the first 100 orders for it. However, they plan to produce as many as 5,000 examples "without the top".

The American company NCE, known for converting vehicles into convertibles with a sliding roof, produced convertible version of the electric Tesla S and already got it for her first 100 orders. The Californian company has been working on similar conversions into convertible models for many years, and they are best known for their convertible versions of the model Range Rover called Droptop. The latest project, however includes the Tesla S electric sports sedan, which was produced both in a version with a solid and a canvas sliding roof. The Tesla S cabriolet has already received a positive response from customers, as it is only one Chinese mogul ordered 100 examples of this vehicle.

NCE devoted the last six months to the transformation of the Tesla S, and the project involved much more than just removing the roof, as the roof and its structure had to be completely changed in certain places. Conversion to a "soft top" version costs just over 21,000 euros, and conversion to a version with a solid sliding roof or "hard top" costs just under 36,000 euros. In addition to the price of a "normal" Tesla S, of course. On the basis of numerous orders, NCE has already established contact with the Tesla company about the possibility of producing a series of 5,000 vehicles, which would then be converted into "topless" models.
