Imagine walking into a restaurant, ordering the most expensive steak on the menu, and the waiter bringing you two, pouring truffles over them, and calculating the price of a warm sandwich. That's kind of the feeling you get with the new Zeekr 7X. This isn't just another electric car; it's a technological nod to the European automotive aristocracy. If you drive a German premium SUV, you might want to take a seat - the numbers that follow could cause a mild existential crisis. So here's my Zeekr 7X Privilege review.
First, let's clear up the pedigree. Zeekr It's not some garage brand. It's part of a mighty empire Geely, which also owns Volvo, Polestar and Lotus. This means that Zeekr 7X It's not "cheap Chinese plastic," but a car designed in Gothenburg, Sweden, and assembled in state-of-the-art factories in China. The result? A shape that's clean, aerodynamic (resistance coefficient 0.24 Cd) and surprisingly European. Let's see what the test told me Zeekr 7X Privilege.
Model Privilege AWD, which we are reviewing, is the top of the range. With a length of 4.79 meters (188.5 in), it ranks right where it reigns supreme. Tesla Model Y, but Zeekr doesn't just want to be an alternative. It wants to be dominant. And the author dares to write that in many ways it is.

Interior: A living room that travels at the speed of light
When you open the door – or rather, when the door opens on its own (because why bother pulling the door handle in 2025?) – you enter a world that reeks of prestige. The interior is minimalist, but not “Tesla-empty”. There are buttons – for driving mode, audio, a 16-inch screen that works faster than your latest smartphone, and materials you would expect in a six-figure car. This car comes out twice as expensive as Tesla Model Y Performance, but costs identically.

Special feature? The rear right seat. At the touch of a button, the passenger seat folds into the dashboard, and the rear seat extends into a chaise longue. This is not a driver's car; this is a car in which you want your wife to drive you while you "work" (read: sleep) in the back. There's enough room to hold a small table tennis tournament inside. The rear bench also has a reclining function. Which is special.

Numbers that hurt the competition – Zeekr 7X Privilege test
This is where things get serious. Brace yourself because the specs are downright brutal for a family SUV.
- Power: The two electric motors produce a combined 475 kW (637 hp). Let me repeat that: six hundred and thirty-seven horses.
- Torque: 710 Nm (524 lb-ft), available immediately.
- Acceleration: 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.8 seconds. That's faster than a Porsche 911 Carrera from a few years ago. In a family car, taking your dog to the vet.
- Top speed: 210 km/h (130 mph). Because of course you absolutely need that speed on the way to kindergarten.
Battery and charging: Black magic?
Zeekr 7X uses an 800-volt architecture, which is the EV world's equivalent of fiber-optic internet, while others still use dial-up access. Battery with capacity 94 kWh (usable) – gross even 100 kWh – provides a real range of around 475 km (295 miles). According to the WLTP standard, this number of course jumps over 550 km, but let's be realistic – on the highway at 130 km/h, expect consumption of around 23 kWh/100 km, in winter a few kilowatts more. But comparable to Tesla Y Performance, which was quite a surprise to me. The cars have comparable to horses and comparable consumption.

But the real ace up the sleeve is the filling. At a suitable charging station (if you can find one and it actually works), this beast charges from 10 % to 80 % in about 11 minutes (smaller battery), and for a larger one it is around 15 – 16 minutes. That's barely enough time to go to the bathroom and order an overpriced coffee at the gas station. Maximum charging power? Up to 360 kW. German engineers are currently quietly whining in the corner. From 10 – 80% will charge with an average of 260 kW DC. In addition, it has a standard 22 kW/AC ...which even the new Porsche Cayenne can't do. So Zeekr understands that these cars are also charged in shopping malls and not just at home.

Ride: A flying carpet or a ship in a storm?
But here we come to the "but". Zeekr 7X Privilege It has air suspension. On the highway it's a dream. The car floats. It's quiet, comfortable, isolated from the world. The perfect cruiser. But when the road gets twisty, its weight shows – 2,535 kg (5,589 lbs). You can't beat physics, you can only bribe it with electronics. In the corners it Zeekr 7X a little lean. If you drive it like a sports car (which its engine can do), your rear passengers will quickly turn green in the face. Ironically, the model without air suspension and with smaller wheels (20-inch instead of 21-inch) is actually more maneuverable and less “boat-like”. Some journalists report this and I have to try it myself. Personally, I found the ride, steering and feel good. Not superb. But I didn’t expect that. But the truth is that 99.3% drivers wouldn’t notice this difference. Only serious enthusiasts. Verdict: The car drives great, but it's not a Porsche.
But let's be honest, who's buying? An SUV for racing around serpentines? Most of us want the comfort and power to overtake a truck on the highway without writing a will. And the Zeekr does that with flying colors. There's also an "off-road" mode that raises the chassis so you can climb over the curb in front of a shopping mall. And it raises it significantly.

Conclusion: A Porsche for half the price?
Zeekr 7X Privilege AWD costs around €63,990 to €67,000 (exactly the one in the pictures – PRICE LIST for Slovenia), depending on the market. For this money you get a car that competes in specifications with Porsche Cayenne Electric, which costs twice as much. Yes, the Porsche will handle corners better. Yes, the Porsche has a crest on its nose that tells the neighbors, that you have succeeded in lifeBut Zeekr has everything else and surprisingly feeling of luxury, which is sorely lacking in Porsche materials.
But Zeekr 7X is a car for those who understand technology and value. It's incredibly fast, ridiculously well-equipped (massage, ventilation, premium sound - all standard) and charges faster than you can charge your phone. It has its quirks - the steering is a little "artificial" and the automatic doors are a solution to a problem we didn't have - but as a whole it's a package that's impossible to ignore.

It is Zeekr 7X the best car in the world? Probably not. But it probably is best buy in its class right nowAnd if you don't mind being asked "What the hell is that?" at traffic lights, then this is your next magic carpet.
