Best ice cream in town: Eis Greissler in Vienna #1

Although you would never think that the best Eis Greissler ice cream can be found in "traditionally aristocratic" Vienna, the truth is very close to it. At least according to many who are willing to wait in the long line that winds down Rotenturmstraße in the very center of the city.

The destination of those waiting is a small but elegantly furnished ice cream boutique Eis Greissler. Plates with inscriptions hang on the walls, in the style of "no artificial flavors", "organic milk from our cows", "ice cream from the country"... The ice cream is organic, it is made from fresh fruit and from the milk of cows that graze on their farm. Anna, Berta and Mizzi are just three of them (there are 35 in total) who provide the milk for this wonderful ice cream. They graze in Krumbach, Austria, and you'd be horrified to see the lines snaking for a single scoop of ice cream made from this milk.

Eis Greiisler - a small but elegantly furnished ice cream boutique in Vienna is a real hit.

The story of Eis Greissler is interesting. Andrea and Georg Blochberger are farmers who rent the milk of these cows to nearby schools. In 2011, they had a surplus of milk and because they didn't want to throw it away, they created ice cream from it. He was good, actually great, and soon Eis Greissler presented himself in the center of Vienna. Here we can choose from about twenty flavors, classic and less classic as it is taste of goat's milk or asparagus. Eight flavors are also vegan, 100 % fruity. Raspberries are just like freshly plucked from the bushes, and it is said about pears that it is a shame to lose words.
